Our Story

Hadiya means gift.

That's where the name comes from, and it's the idea the whole brand is built around: a piece of jewelry that carries something real — a name, a word, a meaning — not just a shape someone thought looked nice.

We started Hadiya Charms because most "Arabic-inspired" jewelry we could find wasn't actually Arabic. It borrowed the aesthetic — a swirl of script-like linework, a crescent, an eye — without the language or the meaning underneath it. If you can't read what you're wearing, or worse, if the brand that sold it to you can't either, it stops being personal and starts being decoration.

So we build the opposite kind of piece. Every name and word we write is real Arabic script, checked before it goes into production — not guessed, not auto-generated, not "close enough." When you order a name necklace or a word pendant from us, what you approve is what you get. That's the whole promise.

What "meaning" actually means here

We're honest about where our symbols come from, too. The evil eye and the hamsa, for example, aren't exclusively Arabic or Islamic — they're shared across Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and Jewish tradition alike, and we say so, because pretending otherwise would be exactly the kind of surface-level "authenticity" we're trying not to sell. Words like Mashallah and Alhamdulillah, on the other hand, are the real, specific, defensible thing — actual language with actual meaning, not a motif borrowed for its look.

We'd rather explain a symbol's real story — the parts that are certain and the parts that are shared or contested — than flatten it into a marketing line. If that means a piece is a little less mysterious and a little more true, that's the trade we want to make.

Hadiya Charms pieces are designed for daily wear, not just the day they're unwrapped — a name necklace you actually keep on, a bracelet that becomes part of getting dressed rather than a drawer piece. We're based in the Netherlands, every order is made to be personal rather than mass-produced, and every piece leaves us in a gift box, whether it's headed to you or to someone you love.

We're a small, growing brand, still building out the catalog and the story behind it. What won't change is the standard: real script, honestly explained meaning, and nothing sent into production until we're sure it's right.
